The quickest way to check whether someone follows you on Instagram is to search for their username in your Followers list. You can also check the account’s Following list and search for your own username. If you want to review the relationship in a report, Who Unfollow You offers another way to check—but make sure you distinguish a current follow relationship from a recent unfollow.

1. Search Your Followers List

Open your Instagram profile, tap Followers, and search for the person’s username. If their account appears, your current list shows that they follow you.

2. Search Their Following List

Visit the person’s profile, open Following, and search for your username. If your account appears, they currently follow you.

These checks rely on lists you can access and search. If a profile or list isn’t visible, the results don’t load, or you’ve entered the wrong username, not finding an account isn’t enough to confirm that it doesn’t follow you.

3. Check the Relationship in Who Unfollow You

To review a public Instagram account’s relationships in one place, search for its username on Who Unfollow You and open its report. In the steps below, the “account you’re tracking” means the username you searched for.

Step 1: Search for the account

Enter the person’s Instagram username and select Start. Double-check the spelling: the report will be for the account you entered.

Step 2: Open the account details

In the Dashboard, find the account you searched for and select Details to open its relationship report.

Step 3: Check the relationship tabs

Search for your username under Don't Follow You Back. If it appears, the report indicates that the account you’re tracking follows you, but you don’t follow it back.

Then check Mutual. If your username appears there, the report lists you as following each other.

Together, these lists can help you check whether the account follows you and whether you follow it back.

Current Follows and Recent Unfollows Are Different

Recent Unfollowers answers a different question from Don't Follow You Back and Mutual. It lists accounts that the report records as having recently unfollowed the tracked account. Results depend on the available tracking data and the report’s status. This list doesn’t replace a current relationship report or show what happened before tracking began.

If the page says tracking is still in progress, follow the status shown there and check again later. An empty or unfinished report doesn’t, by itself, establish whether someone follows you now. For a current check, you can also search Instagram’s Followers or Following lists.

Which Method Should You Use?

Checking one person’s current status: Search Instagram’s Followers or Following list.
Reviewing relationship categories in a report: Search for the account in Who Unfollow You, then check Don't Follow You Back and Mutual.
Looking for a recent change: Check Recent Unfollowers and pay attention to the report’s status and available data.

Always confirm that you’ve searched for the right username. A current one-way follow relationship isn’t the same as a recent unfollow, and report results should be read in light of their status and data coverage.
